“For you, I will…” (a violet sonnet)

For you I will build a castle so might,

to stay with you every day and every night.

For you, I will pick up all the stars in the sky –

But all these are just a dream, I break down and cry.

For you, I will wipe all your tears,

to carry you as I cover all your fears.

For you, I will stand up with the world –

But all I see is love: blind and blurred.

For you I will shower summertime with snow.

And engulf wintertime with fires that glow.

All these I know, but an empty dream –

A foolish love and it’s all about him.

A wildflower I used to be in full bloom –

Now drowned in tears, and curled up in gloom.
